Name: Lucia, a.k.a. Morning Star
Age: Appears to be the equivalent of a twenty-something human, putting her in her forties, chronologically.
PB: Scarlett Johansson
Species: Gargoyle (ala the Disney show.)
Appearance: Lucia is a green skinned gargoyle with long blonde hair and three vestigial horns on each side of her forehead. Other than that, her appearance is as close to human as any gargoyle gets. She could easily be considered beautiful by human standards, even though her beauty looks almost demonic. Like most Gargoyles, her feet are quite large, she can ‘wear’ her wings like a cape and has a long, strong tail. She wears a loose white top that belts and fastens below the bosom and loose skirt of leather and the same white fabric as the top. On her left ankle is a golden anklet, her upswept ears are also pierced. When angry or emotionally excited Lucia’s eyes flare bright red.
Personality: Lucia, or Morning Star, is aptly named as she has some of the more defining personality traits of a devil. She is vengeful, violent, and, if she truly hates someone, can lean towards the sadistic. However, she is also honest, honorable and has a sense of justice.
Strengths: Lucia is honorable, and will keep her end of a promise if she enters into a bargain with someone, she’s also honest. She is also a quick witted and resourceful fighter. Being a Gargoyle has some physical strengths as well, she ages at half the human rate, doesn’t get human illness (this includes zombiesm, vampirism and lycanthropy). They also heal rapidly from injuries, as long as they can make it with them until dawn. They are also stronger than humans; the average gargoyle is more than a match for the average human.
Weaknesses: Lucia is sadistic and vengeful if crossed. Gargoyles also turn to stone during daylight while they are in this form they’re totally prone. One sure way to kill a gargoyle is to smash them in their ‘sleep’.
Personal History: Lucia, also known as Morning Star, is from a Gargoyle clan in Athens, Greece, where they traditionally guarded the temples and the humans that lived there. She was born as something almost unheard of among gargoyles; she is one half of a set of identical twins. Identical twins in Gargoyles hatch from the same egg; they were the only two in the Clan who knew of their own blood relation to another. Identical twins are so uncommon in Gargoyle clans that Lucia (the Morning Star) and her sister Venus (The Evening Star) were most likely the only pair in the world.

They were named for the Morning (Lucia) and Evening (Venus) star. The twins were renowned for their beauty, though their dispositions were polar opposites. Venus was bright and shining, kind and simple, while Lucia was obviously the darker of the two, it was possible to tell the two apart merely by the way they carried themselves.

Lucia and Venus often slept in poses that complemented each other, side by side, back to back, like pieces of art. Twin statues of beauty, twin stars. One night, as they slept, they were carted up and shipped to America like cargo, gifts for Jason Cox.

They were only there for a few weeks, where they were kept as a living exhibit during the night and statues as the day. They were only there for a few weeks, before things went wrong. Long story short, Venus died, and Lucia escaped, and now is seeking vengeance for the death of her sister. They had been cared for by one of the other vampires working on the estate, let out to fly and eat.

Proof that people are not the sum of their species, this one was a nice man with a soothing voice, who actually was what he seemed to be. Nice, kind, caring. Disgusted with the fact that two living creatures were being used as living pieces of artwork, he befriended them. Venus trusted him, and liked him, instantly. After a couple weeks, he even managed to win over Lucia, by far the more suspicious and realistic of the two sisters.

About four weeks after they had arrived in the states, they were put on display at one of Dr. Cox’s parties that doubled as a gathering for his own clan. They were displayed in the center, chained to the floor, admired by guests.

Venus took it all with relative calm, though Lucia snapped and lashed out at those that stepped too close to her and her sister. Of course, these shows of violence juxtaposed with Venus’ calm acceptance made them quite the attraction.

Then, things took a decided turn for the worse. The one who had been acting as a caretaker for them had been plotting to help the two of them escape. Even if they would not be able to make it back to their clan, he reasoned, they would’ve been free. Of course, this was discovered, and he was made a very public example of.

This enraged the twins. The Twin Stars of Beauty became the Twin Stars of Rage without warning. In a display of gargoyle strength, fueled by their own anger, they were able to break free of their bonds. Even though the average gargoyle is a great deal stronger than your average human they were in a room full of vampires, who, on average are also a great deal stronger than your average human.

The sisters were outmatched. Venus was fatally wounded in the confrontation, Lucia taking her sister, managed to escape, jumping out a window and flying away, carrying Venus in her arms.

After making a suitable distance away, Lucia picked the inside of an old church’s bell tower for a safe haven. Though she tried to tend to her wounded sister, Venus did not make it to sunrise, to the stone sleep that would restore her and heal her wounds.

That day, frozen in stone, Lucia held the body of her sister in her arms. The last time they would ever pose side by side, and this time, Venus was not stone, but a corpse.

Bereft of her sister, separated by an ocean from her clan, Lucia could possibly be the only living Gargoyle on the East Coast. She hasn’t gone about trying to find if that’s true, as her thoughts are consumed on thing: revenge. She seeks vengeance for the death of her sister, and plans on carrying it out against Jason Cox.

The Death of the Evening Star

This is an rp journal for [info]apocalypse_rpg, no resemblence to persons living or dead is intended, as this is an OC. I am making no money off the use of Scarlett Johansson's image, using it is merely a tribute to a very talented and beuatiful woman.
